Brittany was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and currently works as an Account Executive for an Edtech company called Riipen. In her free time, she enjoys reading, bike riding, and traveling. She has volunteered in Tanzania three times, two of which were with Neema International. She is excited about serving on the board because she’s witnessed first-hand the incredible impact Neema International has made in the community and the dedication of the staff members. She believes that having access to a high quality education in a nurturing environment can lead to a brighter future for so many children!
Emi is a third culture kid, having lived and worked in multiple cities around the world, namely Chicago, Budapest, London, Paris and now in San Francisco. She is passionate about education and empowering others, which is why her career has revolved around education technology. Emi holds a Masters degree in Media and Communications from The London School of Economics and works in marketing at LinkedIn Learning. Being a storyteller is part of her personality, in fact the word ‘mese’ which is in her Hungarian name means ‘story’. She is honored to share her skills on the board of Neema International to help children discover their full potential.
Ayanna is from Florence, South Carolina and she is currently working on completing a second masters in Cancer Biology Prevention and Control through the University of the District of Columbia-Georgetown University Partnership Program. She has a strong passion for serving the community and has a desire to make a global impact. She has worked with many homeless and vulnerable populations, through various organizations, such as Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Lutheran Services Carolinas, and The Whitney M. Slater Foundation. In addition, she served two terms with AmeriCorps VISTA and one term with AmeriCorps State. She believes that access to quality education, healthcare, healthy foods, and clean water are all essential components that children and their families deserve to have. She is excited to serve on the board and contribute to the powerful mission of Neema International!
Catherine was born and raised in Tanzania and is currently an entrepreneur. She graduated from Mzumbe University in 2019 with a Masters Degree in Business Administration in Corporate Management. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, listening to music, watching movies, and travelling. She has been volunteering in Umra Orphanage Centre in Dar es Salaam. She believes that working with Neema International will help her make a positive contribution in the growth and development of the society and looks forward to promoting the education of the children.
Born and raised in Tanzania, Francis is currently a regional partner of FasterCapital, a virtual incubator empowering small businesses. He likes reading, especially financial statements, traveling, and music. He has over 10 years of work experience with former SABMiller, now AB InBev, and Ecolab Inc. He is a member of the International Institute of Business Analysis, IIBA, and attended the business school at University of Bocconi, where he received his EMBA in logistics and supply chain.
Amy is from Lebanon but was born in Kuwait. She used to work as a translator and editor. She is so fond of learning new languages and is currently learning Turkish (Swahili is my next journey!) She is planning to work in the humanitarian field, as she doesn’t see herself in any other sphere of work. She’s so excited about being a part of the board as she was really impressed by the work Neema International has achieved so far. She wants to take part in changing the lives of children and hope we can do this together at Neema!
